Milling Fabrication

We visited 4-pli, which was a company that specializes in milling fabrication. They have a 3-axis machine, and were showing us some projects that they were working on. Also, they were nice enough to give us a demo of the milling as well as the application "Mastercam" in action.

Serious vaccuums to suck excess dust and debris from this machine. Mastercam is an application that simulates the machine milling the 3-D surface/design.

When the milling machine is turned on, the bed sucks the air so that the material does not move during the milling process.

Typically, the milling process goes through two passes. The first pass is usually rough because it uses a larger drill bit. The second pass is smoother because it uses a smaller drill bit. This is the finished design.
